How Much Does Wisdom Teeth Removal Cost in Dallas?
Real per-tooth ranges, what moves the price, and how to get an exact quote before you commit to anything.
In Dallas, wisdom teeth removal at Bleu Dentistry costs $150 to $300 per tooth for a simple extraction and $250 to $650 per tooth for surgical removal of an impacted tooth. The final number depends on how the tooth sits, how many teeth come out, and whether you choose sedation. A $99 emergency exam with X-rays tells you exactly which you need.
Find out which category you are in: the $99 emergency exam includes X-rays and a written quote.

What determines the cost of wisdom teeth removal?
Every quote for wisdom teeth removal comes down to five things. Understanding them is the fastest way to make sense of any price you are given, ours included.
- How the tooth sits. A wisdom tooth that has fully come through the gum can usually be removed like any other tooth. One that is stuck under the gum or bone, called impacted, has to be uncovered and sometimes sectioned before it can come out. That is the difference between a simple and a surgical extraction, and it is the biggest driver of price.
- How many teeth. Pricing is per tooth. Removing one problem tooth is a very different visit from removing all four.
- Sedation. Local anesthetic is included. If you want to be sedated for the procedure, that is quoted separately after we talk through the sedation options that fit your case.
- Imaging. Wisdom teeth sit close to nerves and sinuses, so X-rays are not optional. At Bleu Dentistry they are included in the $99 emergency exam.
- Age and root development. Roots finish forming in the early twenties. Teeth with fully formed, curved roots take more work to remove, which is one reason dentists often recommend evaluating wisdom teeth before that happens.
How much does wisdom teeth removal cost per tooth?
These are the ranges published on our wisdom teeth removal page. You will get an exact written quote after the exam, and that quote is the price.
| Visit or procedure | Cost at Bleu Dentistry | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Emergency exam with X-rays | $99 | Examination, imaging, diagnosis, and a written treatment plan with pricing |
| Simple wisdom tooth extraction | $150–$300 per tooth | A tooth that has erupted through the gum and can be removed without surgery |
| Surgical removal, impacted tooth | $250–$650 per tooth | Uncovering, sectioning if needed, and removing a tooth under the gum or bone |
| Sedation | Quoted before treatment | Optional; discussed at the exam based on your health history and comfort |
If a wisdom tooth is the source of a dental emergency, the same pricing applies. There is no separate emergency surcharge.
Does wisdom teeth removal cost more without insurance?
The procedure costs the same. What changes is who pays. Without insurance you pay the quoted price directly, and you should expect that quote in writing before anything is scheduled. At Bleu Dentistry that is how every case works, insured or not.
If paying all at once is the obstacle, we offer in-house payment plans, and HSA and FSA funds can be used. The dental financing page explains the options, and our guide to dental care without insurance in Dallas covers the bigger picture.
Is it cheaper to have a general dentist remove wisdom teeth?
It often is, for a practical reason. Many general dental offices refer impacted wisdom teeth out. That means a second office, a second consultation, a second set of X-rays, and usually a higher fee schedule. Dr. Charles removes impacted wisdom teeth in-house at the Oak Lawn office, which keeps the whole process, and the whole bill, in one place. Cases that genuinely need a hospital setting are the exception, and we will tell you if yours is one.
When do wisdom teeth actually need to come out?
Not every wisdom tooth needs removal. Teeth that have come in straight, can be cleaned, and are not causing problems can stay. Removal is usually recommended when a tooth is:
- Partially erupted, leaving a flap of gum that traps food and bacteria and leads to repeated infection
- Impacted and pressing on the tooth in front of it, causing pain or damaging that tooth
- Decayed or infected because it sits too far back to clean properly
- Causing swelling, jaw stiffness, or a bad taste, which are signs of infection that should be seen promptly
- Developing a cyst around the crown, which shows up on X-rays before you feel anything
Swelling that spreads toward the eye or neck, fever, or trouble swallowing are not wait-and-see symptoms. Call the same day. Our post on signs of a dental abscess explains what to watch for.
Can I get wisdom teeth removed the same day in Dallas?
Frequently, yes. If the exam and X-rays show a straightforward case, Dr. Charles can often remove the tooth at the same visit. Impacted teeth that need sedation are usually scheduled for a dedicated appointment so there is time to prepare properly. Either way, if you are in pain, you leave the first visit with relief and a plan.
The office is open Monday and Wednesday 10 AM to 7 PM, Friday 3 PM to 7 PM, and Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM with walk-ins welcome. Saturday hours matter here: wisdom teeth pain has a habit of arriving on a Friday night, and most Dallas offices are closed until Monday. See the emergency dentist page for what to do in the meantime.
What does recovery look like?
Recovery is where most of the worry lives, so here is the honest version. For a simple extraction, expect mild soreness for a day or two. For surgical removal of impacted teeth, expect swelling that peaks around day two or three and eases over the following days, with most people back to normal routines within about a week.
- Bite on gauze for the first hour, then leave the site alone.
- Stick to soft, cool foods for the first couple of days and avoid straws, smoking, and vigorous rinsing, all of which can dislodge the clot and lead to a painful dry socket.
- Use the pain plan we give you. Most patients do well with over-the-counter medication taken on schedule.
- Call if pain gets worse after day three instead of better, or if you notice a bad taste or fever.
You will leave with written instructions and a number to reach us. Follow-up visits are part of the plan, not an extra charge.
Is the cost different from a regular tooth extraction?
The ranges are the same because the categories are the same: simple or surgical. Wisdom teeth are just far more likely to fall into the surgical category. If your question is about a different tooth, our guide to tooth extraction cost without insurance in Dallas walks through it, and the tooth extraction page covers the procedure itself.
Bottom line
Wisdom teeth removal in Dallas costs $150 to $300 per tooth when it is simple and $250 to $650 per tooth when the tooth is impacted, at Bleu Dentistry. The only way to know which applies to you is an exam with X-rays, which is $99 here and includes a written quote. Impacted teeth are removed in-house, same-day removal is often possible, and Saturday hours mean you do not have to wait out a weekend in pain.
Wisdom tooth pain does not wait for Monday. Same-day visits available, Saturday walk-ins welcome.
