What Counts as a Dental Emergency?
Not sure if your situation qualifies? Here are the most common dental emergencies we treat at Bleu Dentistry:
- Severe toothache that won't respond to over-the-counter pain medication
- Broken, cracked, or chipped tooth from trauma or biting something hard
- Knocked-out tooth (time-critical — see us within 30 minutes if possible)
- Dental abscess causing facial swelling, fever, or a foul taste
- Lost crown or filling leaving the tooth exposed and sensitive
- Uncontrolled bleeding after an extraction or trauma
- Jaw pain or lockjaw that prevents you from opening or closing your mouth
Why Saturday Hours Matter for Emergencies
Dental emergencies don't follow a Monday-through-Friday schedule. That's why Bleu Dentistry offers extended Saturday hours from on-call from 10 AM, walk-ins from 12 PM, open until 8:30 PM — longer than most dental offices in Dallas. Whether you woke up with sudden pain or had an accident during the weekend, we're here.
Our Saturday hours are not just for emergencies either. We also offer routine cleanings, exams, and follow-up appointments for patients who can't take time off during the work week.
What to Do Before You Arrive
- Call us first: (214) 699-4976. We'll prepare for your arrival.
- For a knocked-out tooth: Pick it up by the crown (not the root), rinse gently, and keep it in milk or your saliva.
- For pain: Take ibuprofen (not aspirin, which can increase bleeding).
- For swelling: Apply a cold compress — 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off.
- For bleeding: Apply firm pressure with clean gauze for 15–20 minutes.
